William Harris Obituary

William P. Harris, known affectionately as Bill to his family and friends, passed away on April 6, 2024, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and a cherished member of his community. Bill was the beloved son of Ray and Carol Harris of Walpole, Massachusetts. He was a devoted and loving fiancé to Kelly Shaughnessy of Stoughton, with whom he shared many happy memories. As a father, Bill was deeply admired by his three children: Jaxson, Nicholas, and Margaret Harris, who will carry his legacy forward with love and pride. He is survived by his brother Thomas and his wife Jenn and his nephews TJ & Ryan Harris of Dedham A proud graduate of Dedham High School, Bill was remembered for his passion for soccer, which he played with dedication and team spirit. His work ethic and commitment to service were evident in his professional life. Bill worked as a Service Advisor for Ira Acura in Westwood, where his expertise and friendly demeanor were well regarded by colleagues and customers alike. He had also been a valued team member at Prime Honda and Clair Honda for many years, where his contributions were greatly appreciated. Bill's interests and hobbies brought joy to both himself and those around him. In his free time, he could often be found engrossed in the latest video game, a pastime that allowed him to unwind. As a sports enthusiast, Bill never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Patriots and Red Sox, reveling in the camaraderie and excitement of the games. His love for dogs was yet another testament to his kind and caring nature. And, of course, Bill could frequently be seen with a Mountain Dew in hand, a simple pleasure that became a signature part of his easygoing demeanor. Those who knew Bill would unanimously agree that he was a man of many admirable qualities. He was funny, often bringing a smile to the faces of those around him with his quick wit and good humor. Thoughtful in his actions, Bill was always considering how he could make a positive impact on the lives of others. His kindness was a beacon that drew people to him, and it will be one of the many attributes that will be deeply missed by all. Bill's presence in the lives of his family and friends was a gift that will forever be cherished. His laughter, his warmth, and his generous spirit have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye to William P. Harris, we take comfort in the memories that will continue to live on—a legacy of love, friendship, and the countless ways in which he made our world a better place. The void left by Bill's departure will be felt deeply, but the stories of his life will be recounted with fondness and pride. We honor his memory by embracing the values he held dear and by striving to live with the same joy and compassion that he exemplified every day. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Bill Harris was a shining example of the best of us, and while he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Bill. Your light continues to shine.
